I bought this lovely raw silk with no plan (as I often do) and trolled around looking for a pattern on Ravelry…this one was my favorite.
Having never done lace before, it looked intimidating but it was surprisingly uncomplicated with a very pretty result. The pattern repeats in 8 rounds, making the spiraling leaves.
These took me a while to finish as most of it was done on the subway to and from work. I’d like to do more projects like this..It was a fun one.

The other half of the baby gift. I bought the fabric for this bag in Portland OR from a sweet little store with a sweet helpful owner… it’s so pretty. The rest of it is from Purl in Soho, who boast lovely fabrics and super bitchy employees. I will never get why people who work in craft stores in NYC are so annoying.
Regardless, this was really fun to make! Easy to follow pattern and cute bag with lots of inside pockets. Hope it travels well.
MY BIG FAT GREEK EASTER!!
Typically greek Easter and American easter are about a week apart. This year we were lucky to have them fall on the same day which means big Easter party at mom’s house. Since Dan and I now have some experience in pig roasting after his birthday last year, my mom asked us to help out and roast both a pig and lamb. On top of that we prepared tons of veggies, salads, spanakopita and other assorted goodies. Turned out to be a great party and now we are all warmed up for a summer of bbq’ing and possibly a few more pig roasts!
